Joe Tamburino Gets Order for Protection Dismissed for Client Accused of Domestic Violence

|

Attorney Joe Tamburino represented a client who was facing domestic abuse charges. The accuser petitioned for an Order for Protection (OFP) to be placed against our client. An OFP is typically filed against a partner, family member, or some other person living in the home. It may be filed in the event that the petitioner believes that he or she is a victim of domestic abuse.

OFP may usually encompass the following restrictions against the accused:

  • Protection for any harm or potential harm
  • No contact is to be made with the petitioner
  • Accused may not be allowed to live in the same home
  • Custody and child support may be ordered
  • Treatment and counseling may be required

Mr. Tamburino took great care in preparing the case to be brought to trial. This included gathering witness interviews and background information, substantial discovery, as well as collecting electronic records in the form of phone and email conversations.

The case had undergone two hearings before the courts decided in favor of Mr. Tamburino’s Motion to Dismiss OFP on April 1, 2015. Our client is very happy with the result we were able to obtain for him.
