About Super Lawyers® and Rising Stars
Developed by Thomson Reuters subsidiary Super Lawyers®, the Super Lawyers® and Rising Stars guides recognize U.S. attorneys who have demonstrated exemplary legal skills in their practice areas. Candidates for both guides must pass a multiphase selection process in which they are subjected to a 12-category review by the Super Lawyers® research team and a Blue Ribbon Review by a panel of their peers.
The only difference between the two guides is that Rising Stars exclusively recognizes attorneys who are (a) in their first 10 years of practice or (b) no older than age 40. Thus, Super Lawyers® is devoted to recognizing mid- to late-career attorneys. No more than 2.5% of all U.S. practicing attorneys are recognized in Rising Stars, while, working with a bigger candidate pool, no more than 5% are recognized in Super Lawyers®.
